About Family and Children's Association
Family & Children’s: A Community of Caring
Family & Children’s is a not-for-profit agency helping over 40,000 of our neighbors each year. For more than 125 years, we have worked to protect and strengthen vulnerable children, seniors, families and communities on Long Island and Queens.
Through an integrated network of services and counseling, Family & Children’s provides help and hope to underserved and disadvantaged individuals struggling to build better lives. We Invest in Children by offering early childhood intervention, educational mentoring, youth development, college scholarships and psychological counseling. We Build Family Success through family crisis management, chemical and substance abuse programs, parenting skills training, vocational education, and foster care/court supervision diversion. We Help Neighbors in Need by assisting veterans, senior citizens and runaway or homeless teens with their unique challenges.
Family & Children’s has been nationally recognized as a model of excellence; fiscally sound, well-managed, and possessing an impeccable reputation in providing community-based social services. We are recipients of the coveted national Council on Accreditation (COA) recognition which is conferred upon outstanding human service agencies. We embrace more than 200 individual volunteers, corporate groups, community groups and sponsors who join with us to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
